It has been said that 200 miles off the west coast of Ireland once sat a beautiful paradise-esque island called Hy Brazil. Today, people still speak of the island in stories and folklore with many swearing to its authenticity.
Many failed attempts have been made to find the island, however, sailors claim to see a misty, forest covered island as they go past on their journeys.
The earliest known reference to this island is from a map dating 1325 and after 1865 many nautical and government maps did not show the island at all.
One theory is, Hy Brazil was once home to a highly intelligent race of people with knowledge of advanced technological secrets. This race of people were blessed with the knowledge of our universe and other secrets like 'life after death' and how to travel from one realm of existence to another.
The inhabitants of Hy Brazil viewed themselves as superior to the rest of the human race. They did not see any point in trying to help the rest of humanity as they were seen as barbarians and would not listen anyway.
The rest of humanity were left to learn in their own time as the people of Hi Brazil used their knowledge and their power to leave earth and go to another realm where they would be more at home.
